Assistant General Manager – TRAVELODGE/PENNY'S DINER OF MILFORD, UT Benefits Fun company culture Recognition of effort and rewards for results Comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) Promotional opportunities within a growing company Position Summary The Assistant General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel and diner, providing support to the General Manager. The role directs and coordinates daily activities to achieve optimum efficiency, economy of operations, and balance opportunities with the hotel’s mission. The position focuses on guests, employees, and owners’ satisfaction. Responsibilities Support the General Manager in daily operations and overall property management Supervise department heads and staff to ensure adherence to hotel policies and service standards Assist with hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions Handle guest concerns and ensure prompt service recovery Monitor guest feedback (TripAdvisor, OTAs, surveys) and implement improvements Maintain accurate reports including cash flow, AR aging, billing, and inventory Lead morning meetings in the GM’s absence and assist with business planning Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety regulations, and brand standards Perform property and room inspections; oversee maintenance and FF&E Collaborate with the sales team on client relations and new business opportunities Fill in across departments when needed and respond to emergencies as required Support audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives Prerequisites Strong management skills with the ability to appropriately assign or delegate work and authority to others in order to accomplish goals. Ability to coach, advise, and assist as required. Education A degree or diploma in hotel management or a related field is preferred. Experience in financial accounting, personnel supervision, and problem resolution is advantageous. Excellent computer system skills. Experience At least 5 to 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 to 4 years as an Assistant General Manager. HMC is an equal opportunity employer.
