Job Description – Electrophysiology Tech

The Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist will provide technical support during cardiac electrophysiology procedures, assisting physicians and the clinical team with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The technologist will prepare and maintain the EP lab, operate specialized equipment, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians and the clinical team during electrophysiology procedures.
• Prepare the EP lab, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
• Operate and monitor electrophysiology and cardiac mapping equipment.
• Assist with catheter placement and monitoring during EP procedures as directed.
• Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-control standards.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to the clinical team.
• Prepare and maintain procedural equipment and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Assist with documentation and accurate recording of procedure information.
• Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and radiation-safety guidelines.
• Maintain adequate supplies and ensure the procedure room is properly stocked.
• Provide support during cardiac catheterization and other related cardiovascular procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, radiology staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent EP/Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Experience with electrophysiology procedures and cardiac equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment.
• Strong knowledge of patient safety, sterile technique, and cardiovascular procedures.
• Relevant professional certification/credentials as required by the facility.
