Lead Toddler Teacher

Our center is a NAEYC-accredited and Quality Stars NY-accredited childcare program located on a university campus. We are committed to providing high-quality early childhood education while fostering a supportive and collaborative workplace for our staff.

Position Details

Position: Full-Time Lead Toddler Teacher
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: 8-hour shift between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM
Evenings/Weekends: None

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a directly related field
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
• Formal written education plan leading toward the required qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 12 credits in Early Childhood Education; or
• Bachelor's Degree plus 12 credits in Early Childhood Education; or
• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a directly related field and four years of teaching experience in a child care center or other educational program serving young children

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for toddlers.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support children's growth and learning.
• Build positive relationships with children and their families.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom.
• Observe, document, and communicate children's developmental progress.
• Follow New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations and center policies.
• Collaborate with teachers and administration to provide high-quality care and education.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with young children.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, sit on the floor, and rise from the floor without assistance.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds .
