Role Description The Family Law Attorney will handle a diverse caseload involving divorce, child support, maintenance, parental responsibility, parenting time, paternity, adoption, and post-decree matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, assessing legal needs, developing case strategies, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, and appearing in court for hearings and trials. The attorney will negotiate settlements, collaborate with firm colleagues and staff, and maintain clear, timely communication with clients to guide them through each step of the legal process. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chicago Area, requiring consistent presence in the office and local courts.\n
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law with specific experience in Family Law and related Legal Issues.

• Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions in family law and related civil matters.
\n
• Experience preparing for and conducting Depositions, including witness examination and evidence gathering.
\n
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Illinois (or eligibility for admission).
\n
• Demonstrated ability to manage a family law caseload, including client counseling, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy.
\n
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and strong legal research and analytical abilities.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small firm environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
\n
• Prior experience in estate planning or real estate law is a plus, as is experience with bilingual or multicultural client communities.
