An entrepreneurial, growing, and highly supportive law firm located in the heart of New York City is seeking a Matrimonial and Family Law Associate for their growing and thriving practice.

Their Matrimonial & Family Law Practice guides clients through all aspects of matrimonial and family law, from planning and negotiation of pre and post-nuptial agreements to various divorce actions and post-judgment enforcement proceedings. They have successfully represented CEOs, celebrities, gallery owners, professional athletes, world-renowned restaurateurs, high-net-worth individuals, and spouses in divorce proceedings.

What the role entails:

\n

They are offering an exceptional opportunity for a matrimonial associate to become a key part of their Matrimonial & Family Law Practice.

\n

\n

The ideal candidate will have 3-12 years of experience, (5-7 years preferred) in multiple phases of litigation, be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic. All applicants must demonstrate excellence in writing, legal analysis, research, and have strong communication skills.

\n

Candidates must be highly responsive, flexible, creative, passionate about their work, and fully committed to providing exceptional client service and a top-quality work product. Candidate should be admitted in New York State.

\n

\n

Essential responsibilities include:

\n

\n
• Handle all aspects of divorce and family law cases from inception through completion
\n
• Draft motions and cross motions for pendente lite relief, draft ex parte emergency motions, manage the discovery process, and prepare exhibits and documents for hearings and trials
\n
• Research effectively and efficiently, having proficiency in using Westlaw
\n
• Draft discovery demands and responses, oversee document production and review, including all manner of e-discovery
\n
• Conduct and defend depositions
\n
• Develop collaborative strategies and advise clients regarding their best interests
\n
• Manage case deadlines effectively
\n
• Communicate directly with clients, witnesses and opposing counsel
\n

Qualifications and skills:

\n

\n
• Proficiency in New York and federal civil and appellate procedures
\n
• Experience with handling a variety of litigations
\n
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple cases
\n
• Impeccable attention to detail
\n
• Demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and legal analysis
\n
• An excellent academic record and interpersonal skills
\n
• Comfortable working with clients who are dealing with highly stressful and emotional situations
\n
• In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

The firm is currently maintaining a hybrid schedule structured as Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in-office with the option to be remote Mondays and Fridays.
