The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, has a strong willingness to learn, and understands how to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate clinical care alongside a team. Our Surgical Unit has thirty‑two beds, we care for patients with both surgical and nonsurgical conditions, and we care for patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurses also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver the best possible treatment of our patients. Job Summary Systematic assessment/reassessment of the health‑care needs of individuals, appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions, involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers as appropriate. Analysis of assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patients, families, and other healthcare providers as appropriate. Provision of nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and meet needs, guided by professional judgment, evidence‑based practice, regulations, and policy. Evaluation of patient outcomes by applying critical thinking and evidence‑based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts, and reach sound conclusions. Professional practice and serving as department leader alongside and in the absence of the Nurse Manager. Maintenance of ACLS certification. Oversight and promotion of bedside handoff at shift changes. Qualifications Education Diploma or Associate’s Degree (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Experience One year experience as a Registered Nurse preferred. Licensure / Certification Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Maintenance of BLS and ACLS through re‑training for the duration of employment. RNs with less than one year experience must complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
