Senior Accountant

PAY RANGE: $100,000 to $115,000 base salary plus health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off (PTO).

JOB DESCRIPTION

CV Resources, in partnership with our food processing client, seeks a talented Senior Accountant to join their Finance and Accounting Team. Reporting directly to the Owners and to the Controller, this role will be responsible for month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable oversight, and inventory accounting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational teams, and ensuring compliance with company policies and debt covenants.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

General Ledger (G/L) Accounting Perform month-end closings of the General Ledger (G/L). Prepare balance sheet reconciliations. Accounting Operations Monitor cash flow on a weekly basis. Present findings to the Board of Directors. Ensure debt compliance by preparing and submitting compliance analyses. Manage inventory accounting processes, including raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods across production stages. Ensure accurate valuation of inventory, accounting for seasonal harvest fluctuations, perishable goods write-downs, and agricultural commodity cost variances. Perform cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory to the general ledger, investigating and resolving variances in a timely manner. Support cost accounting for crop yields, processing costs, and finished goods to ensure accurate product costing and margin analysis. Accept any other duties as delegated by management.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable major. At least five (5) years of progressive accounting experience. Current or prior employment at a manufacturing or agricultural processing company. Preferred CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA.

Required Technical Proficiency in a major ERP system. Interpersonal Superb analytical and critical thinking skills. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and hands-on approach to work. Impeccable verbal and written communication skills. Results-driven with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
