Senior Accountant

Responsibilities Daily Analyze and maintain the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of A/P coding and cost allocation Manage, review and record cash transactions for US Customs and Agents bank accounts Review and manage Payables requests from Ops Monthly Prepare month-end closing journal entries, including supporting schedules and documentation for USA and foreign offices Record all monthly and year-end accruals Manage and prepare fixed asset accounting and depreciation journal entries Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Prepare and distribute recurring financial reporting packages, and KPI analyses for US and foreign offices Prepare monthly intercompany billing invoices to foreign offices Quarterly Complete balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies. Prepare quarterly sales and use tax returns Annually Prepare annual fixed asset roll forward reports Prepare and manage annual budget upload templates Prepare audit schedules and ensure supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and provided within required deadlines Support annual financial statement audits and liaise with external auditors. Manage and file tax and local business and state administrative filings, including property tax reporting, reconciliations, and compliance Assist in maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Ad Hoc Participate in ERP system enhancements, implementations, and process optimization initiatives. Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function Assist with special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned Verify and manage due diligence on domestic Vendor bank details Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Extensive experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Proficiency with ERP systems (CargoWise and/or GoFreight a plus) Preferred intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred CPA License a plus Experience supporting external audits. Experience with multi‑entity and international accounting environments. Logistics business experience a major plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
