Registered Nurse

Position Overview: Provides direct patient care under direction of IVF nurse manager and in cooperation with physicians. Assesses patient health, social, emotional, and learning needs, and develops specific, relevant patient plans of care which meet them. Documents all treatment accordingto policy and monitors effectiveness of care on patient outcome. Essential Job Functions: • Conducts and documents individual patient assessment in collaboration with physician providing care • Formulates and documents patient's plan of care. Ensures plan is consistent with medical plan, incorporating nursing goals and patient/family/significant other needs. Monitors effectiveness based on outcome. • Administers medications according to policy/procedure. • Conducts teaching classes where patient and/or partner learn to administer injections. • Monitors appropriate lab values for therapeutic ranges of medications and for indications of drug-related interactions. • Audits utilization of medications, including, but not limited to, controlled substances. • Functions as part of interdisciplinary team to coordinate services to meet patients' needs. Makes referrals as appropriate. • Maintains patient files and medical records and complete patient charts as directed by physician. • Reviews, enters lab results and compares to standing orders to confirm normal findings. Presents any abnormal findings to physician for review and assures appropriate follow-up/treatment. Scans labs into Ebridge • Enters patient information and cycle data into SART database, including cycle outcome. • Orders and maintains supplies as necessary. • Maintains current knowledge of policies and procedures. Reviews relevant literature and attends in-services and meetings. • Functions as recovery room nurse after OR procedures in accordance with recovery room policy and procedure. • Other duties as assigned. Non-essential Job Functions: • Assist clinical team with special events • Actively participate in trainings, seminars, conferences and professional organizations • Provide additional assistance to the practice when necessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: (examples below) • Proficiency in verbal communication in English and understanding of basic written English • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment • Demonstrated problem solving skills in a complex, clinical environment • Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationship skills • Good organizational and time management skills • Ability to successfully multitask Education/Experience Requirements: • Graduation from accredited school of nursing • Current license to practice in the state of Connecticut or NYS as dictated by work location • Experience in OB/GYN or reproductive endocrinology desirable • BCLS/ACLS certified Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: (examples below) • Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours/day • Staff Nurse will be required to work at any facility and be responsible for own transportation • Staff Nurse will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call) OR • Standing: 5% • Walking: 15% • Sitting: 75% • Lifting/Carrying: 5% - up to 50 pounds Satellite Location(s) additional responsibilities: • Cover as needed Immunization: Staff member must meet immunizations requirements as stated in RMA-CT immunization policy. • TB inoculation • Flu vaccine • Others as they become required § (subject to applicable exemptions) HIPAA Privacy Requirements The Employee acknowledges and agrees that while performing job responsibilities for RMACT, the employee may create, receive, or review certain Patient Protected Health Information (PHI), as such term is defined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and the regulations promulgated thereon (The "HIPAA Privacy Rule ").
