Tradesperson Construction

Job Summary Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment through refreshing different spaces within the healthcare system under the direction of a supervisor. Participates in the overall building management program to provide high‑quality, cost‑effective service with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and quality. Involved with facilities construction and refresh efforts, including carpentry, flooring installation, painting, and drywall repair. Work is performed primarily as a team with a finisher and/or carpenter but may include independent tasks. The average work week is Monday‑Friday, with the requirement to work scheduled nights or weekends as needed. Essential Functions Communicates and collaborates with supervisors, project managers, and other trades and sub‑contractors to ensure quality, timely, cost‑effective construction. Ensures proper care, maintenance, and safe use of equipment and supplies, keeping work areas orderly, clean, and safe. Performs hands‑on construction activities, uses measuring equipment, and calculates measurements to determine proper functions. Inspects and tests finished work of apprentices, provides mentoring and work direction. Documents procedures and work completed accurately and timely. Repairs, replaces, lays out, demolishes, and constructs specialty systems and equipment; manages material estimating, ordering, and site preparation. Reviews project blueprints to identify needs, revisions, or problems and communicates with the appropriate engineer/designer. Ensures all services comply with legal specifications, codes, organizational policy, and compliance requirements. Plans and coordinates workflow with other trades and serves as a resource for building systems. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Driver's license (state of Michigan required). Schedule Full‑time, variable shift. Weekly scheduled hours: 40 hours from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with variable weekend work as required.
