Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Day Shift) Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Shop Welder for a structural steel fabrication client in Phoenix, AZ. We are looking for welders with extensive shop fabrication experience who can work independently, read blueprints, and produce high-quality welds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on structural and carbon steel components.
- Perform Stick welding as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Fit, fabricate, and assemble structural steel components.
- Measure, cut, grind, and prepare materials for fabrication.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards are met.
- Operate fabrication equipment, hand tools, grinders, plasma cutters, and power tools safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- 5+ years of shop welding experience required.
- Strong MIG welding experience required.
- Stick welding experience required.
- Experience with structural steel fabrication required.
- Experience welding carbon steel .
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings.
- Experience with fit-up and fabrication.
- Experience using .045 wire preferred.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for the duration of the shift.
- Stable work history with strong attention to detail.
- Must successfully pass a hands-on weld test.
- Background check and drug screen required.
- AWS D1.1 Certification
- 3G/4G/6G welding certifications
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- Experience in heavy manufacturing or structural steel fabrication
