Operations Manager, Landscape Maintenance

SUMMARY The Operations Manager, Landscape Maintenance is a key field-based leadership role responsible for the daily execution, efficiency, and quality of Roebuck Landscaping ’s commercial landscape maintenance operations. This role focuses on managing route operations, deploying crews effectively, and ensuring all accounts are serviced to company standards. Working closely with the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager of Landscape Maintenance, Crew Leaders, Account Managers, and Branch Administration, the Operations Manager drives consistency, accountability, and performance across all field operations. This is a high-accountability, field-forward role for a systems-minded operator who thrives on structure, team performance, and delivering consistent results in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ROUTE OPERATIONS & DAILY EXECUTION Manage daily route assignments and crew deployment in coordination with Field Supervisors and dispatch Ensure crews are equipped, scheduled, and prepared before leaving the yard each day Monitor route completion and adjust schedules in real time to maintain efficiency and service quality Serve as the point of contact for field disruptions including weather, labor gaps, and equipment issues Track and enforce production targets including route completion, labor hours, and daily output QUALITY CONTROL & ACCOUNTS STANDARDS Execute a consistent quality control cadence across assigned accounts Conduct field walk-throughs with Crew Leaders to evaluate overall property conditions and service delivery Document findings and ensure corrective actions are completed within established timelines Partner with Account Managers to proactively resolve quality concerns before client escalation LABOR MANAGEMENT & WORKFORCE DEPLOYMENT Manage labor allocation across crews to align skill level, crew size, and route complexity Monitor overtime and identify inefficiencies within routes and staffing structure Partner with HR and leadership on performance management, attendance, and workforce planning Support recruiting and onboarding by ensuring new hires are integrated and trained to standard. SYSTEMS & OPERATIONAL ACCURACY Maintain accurate operational data including labor hours, route completion, service notes, and scheduling Review and approve time entries to ensure accountability and job costing accuracy Support the development and use of operational playbooks for consistency across crews Reduce rework and service issues through structured processes and field accountability FIELD LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT Lead and develop Field Supervisors and Crew Leaders through clear expectations and coaching Conduct regular one-on-ones and field ride-alongs to reinforce standards and develop talent Identify high-potential team members and support their growth into expanded roles Serve as a culture carrier and leader across all field teams. CLIENT COMMUNICATION & SUPPORT Support Account Managers in addressing field-level service concerns Respond to service issues with urgency and professionalism Ensure crews maintain a professional presence and deliver consistent service quality Contribute to strong client relationships through reliable execution and communication FIRST YEAR EXPECTATIONS & ONGOING EXCELLENCE Establish a consistent quality control cadence across all assigned accounts Identify and address key labor and route efficiency opportunities within the first 90 days Improve route performance, labor productivity, and service consistency Develop at least one Crew Leader for expanded responsibility or promotion within the first year Maintain accurate operational data and reporting to support decision‑making Reduce service issues and improve overall field execution and team performance Drive consistent daily execution with no gaps in crew deployment or scheduling. QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of experience in landscape maintenance, field operations, or crew leadership Strong knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance including turf care, bed maintenance, and seasonal services Proven ability to lead crews and develop front-line supervisors Experience managing route scheduling, labor deployment, and production efficiency Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adjust in real time High level of organization, accountability, and follow-through Working knowledge of safety practices and field operations Experience with field service management software preferred Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not required. Familiarity with Aspire or similar field service management software preferred. Existing relationships in the Carolinas or Georgia commercial property/landscape market preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
