Child and Youth Program Assistant CY-01/02.

Responsibilities Provide developmental care and instruction for children and youth aged 6 weeks to 18 years in Child and Youth Services programs. Actively supervise and account for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth during daily routines, indoor and outdoor activities, field trips, outings, and special events. Assist in implementing planned, developmentally appropriate activities, schedules, and routines using prepared curriculum, activity plans, and materials, including both group and individual activities. Help arrange for or serve appropriate snacks or meals. Identify and respond to emergency situations, including evacuations, illness, and physical and emotional needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Employment Conditions Direct deposit and Social Security card required. Minimum age of 18 at the time of appointment. One‑year probationary period may apply. Succeedably complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check. Maintain a clean background check and report all suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect. Obtain and maintain required immunizations against communicable diseases, including influenza, and pass a pre‑employment physical. For positions in Child Development Centers, possess the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, and bend. Maintain visual and auditory capabilities to supervise children and respond promptly. Complete all Department of Labor and Service training requirements, including orientation, initial, and annual training, and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as the program schedule demands. Duty may involve indoor and outdoor work, including occasional field trips. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Effective oral and written communication in English.
