A growing public accounting firm in Springfield, IL is seeking an Accountant to join its expanding team. Responsibilities :
- Assist with monthly accounting and bookkeeping functions
- Prepare account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare and file sales tax returns
- Assist with tax preparation for individuals and businesses
- Provide backup support for payroll processing as needed
- Work with senior accountants and management to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Organize and maintain accounting documentation and client records
- Assist with additional accounting and bookkeeping projects as assigned
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
- Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or public accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with tax preparation and payroll is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
