The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close, and supporting financial reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.**Responsibilities*** Prepare and post journal entries.* Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.* Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.* Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.* Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records as needed.* Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.* Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.* Prepare sales tax, payroll, and other regulatory filings as required.* Support the accounting team with special projects and process improvements.* Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.**Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.* 2–5 years of accounting experience preferred.* Strong understanding of GAAP.* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.* Experience with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.* Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.* Ability to manage deadlines and maintain confidentiality.* CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.**About Smart Care**Smart Care is a national repair and service provider for commercial foodservice, refrigeration, and cold storage equipment.
