St. Pete CNC is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator to support production by operating CNC equipment that has already been set up. This role focuses on running machining cycles, handling materials, and inspecting finished parts to confirm they meet print and dimensional requirements.

CNC setup and programming are not required. Qualified setup personnel prepare the machines, programs, tooling, and initial setups. The operator follows work instructions, monitors production, and promptly raises any equipment, tooling, or quality concerns.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and/or turning machines after setup has been completed.
• Load and unload raw material and finished parts safely and carefully.
• Start and monitor machining cycles, watching for unusual sounds, conditions, or interruptions.
• Perform basic tool changes as instructed.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other designated measuring equipment.
• Check parts against applicable prints, dimensions, and inspection instructions.
• Make basic machine offsets only when trained and authorized to do so.
• Monitor tooling for wear, damage, or breakage and report concerns promptly.
• Notify the supervisor or setup person of machining problems, out-of-spec parts, or other quality concerns.
• Complete production and inspection records accurately.
• Keep machines and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow company safety, quality, and shop procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills:

• Previous CNC machine operating or manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to use basic measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers.
• Basic ability to read manufacturing drawings and understand dimensions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and work cooperatively with the production team.

CNC setup and programming expectations:

This is primarily a machine operator position. Employees in this role are not expected to independently set up or program CNC machines. Qualified setup personnel prepare machines, programs, tooling, and initial setups. Operators may make basic offsets only after appropriate training and authorization.
