Description

ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to support a fast-paced supply chain organization focused on sourcing and purchasing materials, managing supplier relationships, and supporting procurement operations across multiple business pillars in North Reading, MA. This 8-month contract role will support one of several teams within the organization and is ideal for a detail-oriented supply chain professional who thrives in a high-demand environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to keep materials, suppliers, and purchasing processes moving efficiently.

Job Description:
• Purchase materials and equipment from suppliers, including electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic components, PCB assemblies, hardware, and non-inventory items
• Manage supplier relationships and support supplier performance tracking and KPI reporting
• Assist with monthly procurement scorecards and support quarterly business review reporting
• Plan material requirements, monitor inventory levels, and manage schedules within the ERP system
• Communicate purchasing needs, schedule updates, and delivery requirements directly with suppliers
• Identify supply chain material risks and provide visibility into material flow and procurement issues
• Partner with Planning and other internal teams to communicate risks, mitigation plans, and supply updates
• Monitor and update open purchase orders, expedites, and delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfillment
• Support Global Commodity Management initiatives related to supplier performance, sourcing support, and new product/program needs
• Resolve purchase order receiving discrepancies and assist with invoice reconciliation
• Manage supplier returns, including non-conformance reports, return material authorizations, and MRB material processing
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support operational efficiency initiatives across procurement workflows

Must Have Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 1-4+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, materials planning, or a related function
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience using ERP systems to manage purchasing, procurement, or materials-related workflows
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across teams

Nice to Have Qualifications:
• Experience working with Oracle or similar ERP systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience supporting supplier management, procurement reporting, or inventory planning
• Familiarity with data management, databases, or procurement analytics tools
• Experience purchasing technical, hardware, or manufacturing-related materials
