The Kinder Morgan CO2 and ETV business unit consists of multiple oilfields, a gas and power plant, transportation pipelines, and multiple Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) plants. In this role, the analyst will support core financial planning activities, including forecasting, budgeting, monthly/quarterly reporting, consolidation, and analysis.What You NeedEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting requiredMBA and/or CPA preferredExperience & Knowledge:3+ years’ experience in financial analysis and planningProven experience in financial modeling, budgets, and operational analysisDetailed understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial statementsPrior experience in oil and gas industry preferredThis position may be filled at various levels to commensurate with skills, education, and experienceCompetencies, Skills & Abilities:Ability to understand, design, and create complex modelsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA and Power QueryEffective and concise communication skills in both oral and written formComfortable presenting financial insights to all levels of managementAbility to prioritize and execute multiple tasks effectivelyPossess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently develop creative solutionsAbility to think critically and understand how the numbers interrelateFlexibility to work additional hours may be required, including occasional weekends and holidaysKey Responsibilities:Support the preparation and consolidation of financial data and analysis for the bi-weekly forecast, month end close, annual budget, Quarterly Business Review (QBR), and Long-Range Outlook (LRO), plus ad hoc assignments and analysis.Maintain and update financial models to reflect current operating conditions and business needsDevelop and maintain sensitivity and scenario analysisAnalyze monthly financial results and monitor the accounting close processResearch and consolidate variance explanations, investigate drivers and anomaliesIdentify and implement financial process improvements while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.Serve as a key contributor to a financial planning application implementation by identifying process improvements, documenting requirements, and validating data integrityInterface with all levels of management to obtain data and information necessary to complete dutiesServe as a liaison between Corporate Financial Planning, Segment Accounting, Operations and Commercial GroupsPerform ad hoc analysis as requested by managementWhy Join Kinder MorganKinder Morgan is a large energy infrastructure company operating in North America.
