The Steel Fabricator plays a vital role in the assembly and creation of steel structures, working within a small team environment. This hands-on position requires proficiency with welding, cutting, and interpreting blueprints to ensure precise fabrications. The role involves a combination of shop and on-site work, reporting directly to the foreman. Candidates should be prepared for intermittent overtime as project demands require.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding, cutting, and assembly of steel components
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Take precise measurements and conduct layout work
- Carry out quality inspections to ensure standards are met
- Adhere to safety compliance protocols at all times
- Handle materials and maintain equipment properly
- Collaborate effectively with team members
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in steel fabrication
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in welding and blueprint reading
- Skilled in metal fabrication, measurement, and layout techniques
- Strong understanding of safety compliance
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks
- Ability to work well in a team and solve problems
