Step into a rewarding role making a real impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity offers four available openings—one at the middle school level and three at the high school level, each requiring expertise in Science, Math, or Social Studies. You’ll play an essential part in supporting learners, tailoring instruction to individual needs, and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere in an urban educational environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required; eligibility for an emergency teaching permit
• Valid, active certification/licensure appropriate to the assigned caseload
• Demonstrated mastery of relevant subject area(s) and instructional resources
• Prior experience working within a school setting is required
• Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
• Experience in, and comfort with, working in urban school settings
• Ability to create effective, standards-driven lesson plans using formative assessments and differentiation
• Must be able to complete PA clearances prior to start date
• Reliable transportation is a must
• Willingness to work within the set hours without schedule accommodations

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction adhering to district and state standards
• Develop and implement lesson plans that promote student learning and growth
• Maintain a safe, positive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
• Support students’ academic and personal development within assigned concentration (Middle School or High School Science, Math, Social Studies)

This contract runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027. Work schedules range by assignment: Middle school hours are 8:30AM-4PM or 8AM-3:15PM (to be determined); high school hours are 7:15AM-2:45PM, totaling 35 hours per week. Candidate selection includes a Zoom interview.
