Responsibilities Essential Functions Demonstrates competency in routine noninvasive and/or invasive cardiology ultrasound diagnostics, and equipment operation and maintenance. Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Solves complex problems. Exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology in conjunction with obtaining and documenting pertinent clinical and diagnostic information. Works closely with the cardiologist to perform noninvasive and/or invasive cardiology diagnostic sonographic exams, and functions independently in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards. Assesses the patient's physical condition and age specific needs. Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented. Position patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation. Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.

Qualifications Education/Training Graduate of an accredited school of sonography. Depending on assigned department, meets education/training as required under established current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) guidelines. Licensure/Certification Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer(RDMS) registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate. Maintains ARDMS physics registry and one ARDMS registry Experience All levels of experience encouraged to apply.
