About the Mainstay United Program

The Mainstay United Program offers residential, behavioral, and independent living skills supports through a rehabilitative model for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The program specializes in supporting individuals with a history of problematic sexual behavior by incorporating clinically informed practices into everyday living supports.

Using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches, Mainstay United promotes risk reduction, community safety, and personal growth while empowering individuals to achieve greater independence and reach their goals.

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) , you will:

• Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
• Foster positive, respectful relationships while promoting independence, dignity, and personal choice.
• Assist individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and community-based activities.
• Provide emotional support, encouragement, and companionship.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of services provided.
• Communicate effectively with individuals served, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Follow all organizational, state, and regulatory policies, procedures, and standards.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive, and person-centered environment.

QualificationsRequired

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to complete and pass required background checks and driver's record screenings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Compassionate and patient approach to supporting individuals with disabilities

Preferred

• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, human services, or a related field
• Postsecondary education in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire

Schedule

• Part-Time
• Flexible scheduling based on program needs
• Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required
• Additional shifts may be available based on program staffing needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to assist individuals with activities of daily living
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout residential and community settings
• Ability to lift, transfer, and support individuals as needed
• Ability to participate in community activities and transportation responsibilities
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
