Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Stamping Tool & Die Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining stamping dies and tooling used in high-volume manufacturing operations. This role requires expertise in precision machining, blueprint reading, troubleshooting, and working with various metals to ensure production efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, repair, and maintain progressive and transfer stamping dies.
- Operate lathes, grinders, milling machines, and other precision equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Troubleshoot die performance issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform preventative maintenance on stamping dies to minimize downtime.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimize tooling performance.
- Ensure all tools and dies meet quality and safety standards.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Maintain accurate records of tool modifications and repairs.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker in a stamping environment.
- Strong understanding of metal stamping processes and die maintenance.
- Proficiency in CNC machining, EDM, and conventional machining techniques.
- Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of die-related issues.
- Familiarity with various steels, coatings, and heat treatment processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Journeyman Tool & Die Certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with high-speed progressive dies and transfer tooling.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software for die design and modifications.
