Shop Technician

Job TitleWe are seeking experienced, mechanically inclined individuals to join our team in a hands-on industrial shop environment. Candidates should have previous experience working in manufacturing, fabrication, industrial maintenance, construction, automotive repair, or another skilled trade where they have developed strong mechanical aptitude and experience using shop tools and equipment.This position supports a variety of shop operations including precision metal fabrication, cylinder deconstruction, sandblasting, equipment rebuilding, material preparation, and general fabrication. Successful candidates are dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.ResponsibilitiesPerform disassembly and teardown of industrial cylinders and mechanical componentsAssist with precision metal fabrication, cutting, grinding, fitting, and material preparationOperate hand tools, power tools, air tools, and other shop equipment safely and efficientlyPerform sandblasting and surface preparation for repair and finishing processesRead tape measures, follow shop drawings, and accurately measure materialsMove materials using forklifts or other lifting equipment as neededMaintain production quality standards while meeting daily production goalsInspect completed work for accuracy and qualityKeep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standardsPerform additional fabrication and shop support duties as assignedRequirements1 year of recent experience in manufacturing, fabrication, industrial maintenance, machine operation, construction, automotive repair, welding, or a similar mechanical fieldStrong mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely use common shop toolsExperience using grinders, drills, saws, impact tools, and measuring devicesAbility to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic shop mathAbility to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shiftAbility to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in a physically demanding environmentStrong attendance record and reliable transportationAbout Express Employment Professionals:Express can help you find the type of job that is a perfect fit for your needs and abilities, and you will never pay a fee for our services and support.
