Job Title: Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to oversee the production and management of construction documents. The role involves designing steel structural systems for industrial and commercial facilities, ranging from simple to complex projects. You will be responsible for creating construction documents, including drawings and specifications, and coordinating with team members, clients, and subcontractors across various disciplines to discuss design strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design steel structural systems for industrial and commercial facilities.
• Develop structures such as piping and conduit supports, anchors, catwalks, platforms, and pedestals.
• Produce construction documents, including detailed drawings and specifications.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members, clients, and subcontractors to discuss design strategies.

Essential Skills

• Structural engineering expertise, with an EIT certification required and a PE preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for design and documentation.
• Strong understanding of structural steel, design calculations, and current building codes, particularly OSSC and ASCE7.
• At least 3 years of experience in structural engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Familiarity with AISC, ASCE codes, and seismic design principles.

Work Environment

The position involves working both in a cubicle-style office environment and onsite at various locations, including client facilities. Collaboration with one of the largest clients on the West Coast is an integral part of the role, involving interaction with contractors and other consultants.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $55.00/hr.
