Director of Finance

Director of Finance Reports to the General Manager; exempt position. The Role Lead the accounting and finance responsibilities of the hotel. Promote and adhere to GAAP compliance, align with AHLA Uniform System of Accounts, and implement human resources practices. Serve as the go-to person for accounting and employment processes, providing coaching and education. Collaborate with the Executive Committee, Aparium Finance team, and other hotel departments to enable financially sound and strategic business decisions. What You Will Do Reinforce the company's Art + Science ideologies to ensure intuitive service and collaboration across the hotel. Lead and manage accounting and finance procedures, ensuring execution of all tasks and deadlines. Prepare budgets and forecasts, recommending economic objectives and policies to management. Develop and implement training to promote efficient, effective, and timely accounting activities. Provide financial analysis to key stakeholders and collaborate with EVP, VP, and GM on hotel financial goals. Enforce compliance initiatives and policies (SOX, PCI, and other legal financial reporting) and ensure adherence to Aparium policies and applicable laws. Oversee financial reporting, record management, audits, and regulatory filings; identify and recommend solutions for process inefficiencies. Ensure Hotel Management Agreement compliance, negotiating and monitoring contracts with vendors and liaising with owners and partners. Advise on tax code revisions and operational adjustments; ensure timely payment and filing of federal, state, local taxes, payroll, and vendor invoices. Participate in hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and motivating team members for succession planning. Make decisions with integrity, maintain confidentiality, use discretion appropriately. What You Will Need Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and finance management experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality preferred. Background in hotel accounting and AHLA U.S.A. knowledge. Experience leading human resources practices, recruitment, investigations, and engagement activities. Willingness to work a flexible schedule for month-end responsibilities.
