Material Planner

Job TitleGeneral PurposeEnsure adequate inventory of materials and supplies at the plant directly or through others to include Purchase for Resale (PFR) products. Manage inventories of goods and supplies to ensure plant maintains adequate supply without carrying excessive inventories. Work with plant management to ensure all items are ordered from approved suppliers and meet all DFA specifications and QA requirements.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesOrder and receive all incoming raw materials, packaging materials, supplies and other items as neededMaintain adequate inventories of materials and supplies by developing and using a solid working understanding of plant operational requirements and supplier lead timesPerform activities that determine quantities of and delivery schedules of materialsEnsure and oversee accurate counting and reporting of receipts and inventories into the proper systemsComplete company standard PO's for all purchases and approve invoices for payment, verifying informationFollow up with suppliers to ensure on time deliveries. Provide information to management of any issuesManage local supplier relationships to ensure that supplier expectations are understood and performance against those expectations are measured and monitored on regular basisProvide for the management and ordering of PFR itemsIdentify plant level supply requirements and provide input to the Procurement Group for prioritization and sourcing actionsImplement best practices as appropriateMaintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesFollow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
