The primary purpose of this position is: to provide technical advice and guidance to the Network Warfare Support flight commander in all areas supporting Network Warfare Operations (NW Ops) mission areas. The incumbent serves as a Intelligence Specialist with the responsibility to provide guidance and expert technical advice on all matters related to the intelligence resources.

Duties

Help

Duty 1 - Prepares 10 related finished intelligence analysis reports and provides focused 10 related analytical support for NW Ops. Performs in-depth research, compilation, and analysis of a wide range of complex and sensitive information to determine NW Ops threats to the USAF, DoD, and US interests.

Duty 2 - Assists in the direction, coordination, review and evaluation of NW Ops related intelligence activities within 688 OSS and coordinates those activities with group, wing, MAJCOM, DoD and national-level agencies.

Duty 3 - Represents 91 NWS in group, wing, MAJCOM, USAF, DoD, and national-level working groups and committees. Prepares and presents briefings on intelligence and NW Ops matters to 91 NWS, group, wing, MAJCOM, USAF, DoD), and national-level agencies.

Duty 4 - Establishes and maintains a current series of liaison contacts with AF, AFSPC, 24AF, 67 NWW, AFISRA, NSA, DIA DoD and national-level agencies as an expert in the field of NW Ops and intelligence.

Qualifications

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the Professional work category are at the Full Performance work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Thorough knowledge of the concepts governing the AF, AFSPC, 24AF, 67 NWW, AFISRA, NSA, DIA, and DoD intelligence missions in support of NW Ops. Be knowledgeable of the terminologies, methodologies, and research and analytical techniques as applied to highly complex assignments in intelligence and NW Ops collection and analysis and the ability to apply facts and estimates derived from numerous sources to a variety of problems having difficult technical aspects. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs ): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of intelligence in relation to the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in various regions of the world, focusing on intelligence collection/analysis, NW Ops threat entities, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD, and other US resources.

2. Knowledge of NW Ops and US intelligence community policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence research planning, operations collection, target analysis, and other intelligence collection related activities.

3. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodologies of intelligence analysis and research to include link analysis and database manipulation.

4. Skill in producing finished intelligence reports and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of customers to include formulating and conducting original research; collating, organizing, and analyzing information; resolving conflicts; and presenting clear and concise findings.

5. Skill in handling classified data in accordance with established DoD procedures.

6. Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data and render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implications of such data; and to apply facts and estimates derived from numerous sources to a variety of problems having different technical aspects.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:

1. Position is designated Special-sensitive and incumbent requires a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

2. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TOP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive position presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

3. The incumbent may be required to perform temporary duty (TDY)within and outside the United States; travel by military and/or commercial transportation; and to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support the squadron's mission. Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyance in accordance with Joint Travel regulations may be required in performance of temporary duty. While every effort will be made to schedule the TOY well in advance of the travel, travel may be required with limited notice. It is imperative incumbent have an unlimited ability to perform such travel.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE : Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE : Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
