Veterinary Technician

Veterinary Technician Salem Valley Veterinary Clinic, located in Salem, CT, is dedicated to patients and client wellbeing. The clinic offers specialty dental services, diagnostics, surgery, and general practice in a four‑doctor, innovative environment. This position requires a team‑oriented individual with a positive attitude and effective communication skills. Work schedule: four‑day work week with no weekends. Location Salem Valley Veterinary Clinic in Salem, CT. Compensation $23.00‑26.00 an hour (based on experience). What you’ll do Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their owners. Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy. Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas. Perform physical assessments and record observations. Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients. Explain necessary follow‑up and home‑care instructions. Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms; inform the inventory manager when supplies need ordering. Assist the veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures—including blood draws, anesthesia administration, patient monitoring during surgery and recovery, and fluid administration. Care for surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared. Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required. At least 2 years’ experience as a veterinary technician. Must competently run surgeries and monitor anesthesia. Positive attitude and team‑player mindset. Diagnostics experience: radiographs, ECG, blood pressure, venipuncture. Placing IV catheters. Administering treatments.
