Key Details Job Title: Residential Aide – Swing Shift Department: ODR Interim Housing Reports To: Program Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Work Setting: On-Site Schedule: Full-Time, Swing Shift (Sunday to Thursday) Location: South Los Angeles What You’ll Do: The Impact You’ll Make As a Residential Aide, you’ll play a key role in supporting residents’ safety, daily routines, and overall experience in the program. You’ll be a calming and consistent presence, promoting respect, stability, and recovery for individuals facing housing insecurity and behavioral health challenges. Resident Support & Facility Care Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and needs Support residents in maintaining independence and engagement in daily routines Assist with meal prep, serving, and group activities as needed Encourage and model appropriate behavior in shared living environments Monitoring, Safety & Documentation Conduct regular safety rounds and monitor resident behavior Respond to emergencies according to protocols Maintain cleanliness of shared areas including hallways, restrooms, and laundry rooms Complete shift documentation, incident reports, and daily logs accurately and on time Program Operations & Teamwork Answer phones, take messages, and greet visitors Assist with scheduled activities, medication observation, and meetings Communicate clearly with other team members and provide thorough shift handoffs Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager What You’ll Bring: Your Qualifications Required Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in mental health, substance use, or homeless services Candidates with lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply If in recovery, at least one (1) year of continuous sobriety required Skills & Abilities Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional during conflict or crises Strong written and verbal communication skills Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with documentation systems Valid California Driver’s License, clean driving record, and insurability under agency policy Must pass Live Scan background check Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and current CPR certification Experience supporting high-needs populations in a residential setting Organized, reliable, and committed to team-based care Why Join Alcott?
