Job Title: 3rd Shift Production Operator

Job Description

The 3rd Shift Production Operator sets up, operates, and maintains manufacturing machinery used to produce advanced power transmission products. You will work both independently and as part of a team to run production equipment, monitor product quality, and support a safe and efficient manufacturing process. No prior machine operating experience is required; comprehensive training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to complete production tasks safely and efficiently.
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure products meet established quality standards.
• Conduct regular in-process inspections to verify compliance with quality control requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and make appropriate adjustments during the production process.
• Record production data, including output quantities, machine settings, and product quality information.
• Maintain a consistent level of productivity and quality output while demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly to maintain a safe work environment.
• Use a computer to enter production activities into the ERP system and complete simple data entry tasks.
• Comply with cross-training and other training requirements to build versatility across different tasks and machines.

Essential Skills

• Ability to speak and read English effectively to follow instructions and communicate with team members.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and accurately record measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and other relevant manuals.
• Capability to stand for an 8–10-hour shift on a regular basis.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to support effective teamwork and documentation.
• Strong time management capabilities to meet production schedules and priorities.
• Basic computer skills to enter activities into an ERP system and perform simple data entry.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery, tools, and production equipment.
• Willingness to work 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m., Monday through Friday) and to be flexible for 1–2 hours of overtime per day as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior production, manufacturing, or machine operation experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with inspection activities in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• Background using or setting up production machinery is an advantage.
• Comfort working in a structured environment with defined procedures and quality standards.
• Openness to cross-training and learning new equipment and processes.

Work Environment

This role is on 3rd shift, working 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to work 1–2 hours of overtime per day as needed. The facility is very clean and modern, focused on manufacturing advanced power transmission lines that are lighter, stronger, and more resistant to environmental degradation than traditional power lines. You will work in a production environment around machinery and use personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety protocols. The work requires standing for most of the shift, performing repetitive tasks, and handling materials up to 25 pounds, all within a well-organized and safety-conscious setting that uses an ERP system for recording production activities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, CA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
