Job Description Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing high-quality sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes while maintaining exceptional food safety and presentation standards. This role requires strong knife skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, nigiri, and specialty menu items Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled safely Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation Prepare rice, sauces, garnishes, and other ingredients for daily service Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Keep kitchen and prep areas clean and organized Assist with menu development and seasonal specials Work closely with kitchen staff and front-of-house team Provide excellent customer service when preparing food in open kitchen settings Qualifications Previous experience as a sushi chef, sushi cook, or similar kitchen role preferred Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques Excellent knife skills and fish handling experience Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Strong teamwork and communication skills Reliable, punctual, and professional appearance
