Preferred candidate will have: Mechanical knowledge Driver’s License Able to do 2‑week training in Arizona The pay and benefits you’ll get as an Assistant Diesel Mechanic: Starting salary of $25 per hour Stable hours for your financial stability Boot allowance worth an additional $200 Tool Allowance of $2,000 per year Comprehensive healthcare coverage including dental, vision and prescription coverage Annual Education Assistance Benefit available for team members Company‑matched 401(k) Adoption assistance and parent support The hours and location you’ll work in as an Assistant Diesel Mechanic with WM: Monday – Friday every week 2nd Shift 4:00 pm Every other Saturday Repair/maintenance shop at our Humble, TX hauling site Responsibilities: Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts. Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns. Conduct safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority. Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work. Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Qualifications: A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record. Be over 18 years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical.
