About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Development and Strategic Officer (CDSO) to join its senior leadership team. The CDSO will be instrumental in advancing the organization's mission by leading the fundraising and development strategy, with a focus on building philanthropic capacity and expanding national visibility. This role requires a visionary with a proven track record in fundraising, including major gifts, unrestricted funds, and capital campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that meets the company's operating, capital, and endowment needs, as well as cultivating and securing major gifts, particularly those that are unrestricted and transformational. Key responsibilities for the CDSO include partnering with the senior team to strategize and execute plans for the expansion of the company's programs and services on a national level, engaging new donors, foundations, and philanthropic partners, and inspiring Board members and senior volunteers to enhance fundraising outcomes. The role also involves leading, mentoring, and growing a high-performing development team, and leveraging technology, public speaking, and social media to support the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a development staff, presenting social service community program opportunities to donors, and engaging with nonprofit Boards and senior leaders across various sectors. Strong strategic thinking, organizational development, and leadership skills are essential, as are excellent communication, public speaking, and relationship-building abilities.
