This is a contract job opportunity with potential for perm. Position: Phlebotomist 5191. Location: Newberg OR. Schedule: 6:30AM to 6:30PM M-F and covering 2 Saturdays a month. Shifts will be 8 hours but may need to start as early as 6:30 or end as late as 6:30PM depending on location. Projected duration: 3 months + potential for perm. Benefits are available.
This is a float job covering Newberg, Bridgeport, Sherwood and Portland. The HM mentioned that the home base would be the PSC closest to where the candidate resides. Clean driving record and reliable transportation are required. Mileage expenses are paid.
Description
Summary: Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuge operation, maintenance data recording, decontamination, patient information updates, etc.
- Collect, store, and handle specimens according to protocols.
- Clearly explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections to patients.
- Demonstrate needle techniques confidently.
- Understand and follow all physician orders accurately.
- Match requisition forms with specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as needed.
- Verify test requisitions for accuracy and package specimens for transport.
- Store specimens at correct temperatures and handle sample placement.
High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years experience needed.
