Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist
Location: Los Angeles, CA — On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to join our Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate has at least three years of hands-on bookkeeping and accounting experience and is proficient in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise .
This position will support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and work with management to ensure timely reconciliations and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor bills, customer invoices, and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding accounting items.
- Maintain organized supporting documentation and assist with accountant and auditor requests.
- Use Excel to prepare schedules, reconcile data, and support financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of bookkeeping and accounting experience .
- Hands-on proficiency in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise .
- Strong understanding of debits and credits, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential financial information.
- Availability to work on-site at our Los Angeles office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining books for multiple companies and reconciling intercompany transactions.
- Experience with payroll journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
