Gas & Chemical Technical Facilities Engineer

Position Summary A Technical Facilities Manager position responsible for technical leadership in planning, design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance of gas and chemical delivery equipment & systems, Gas Life Safety System (GLSS), Pump & Abatement (P&A) units. Key Responsibilities Oversee operations, maintenance, and safety of all G&C delivery systems, GLSS & P&A ensuring maximum uptime. Coordinate with 3rd party service providers for maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, process piping, and controls systems. Monitor 3rd party maintenance performance and report KPIs. Coordinate with multiple groups (planning, construction, safety, G&C service provider, building owners, management, etc.) to meet project/service request requirements and minimize system downtime and business interruptions. Respond to business interruptions or internal customer escalations. Perform problem solving, troubleshooting, root cause analysis using 8D methodology. Ensure all G&C, P&A and GLSS systems operate to design specifications. Evaluate system capacities and capabilities and recommend improvements. Forecast budget spending, review supplier invoices. Identify and scope safety, compliance, capacity, redundancy, and cost savings projects, obtain funding, and manage projects per scope, schedule & budget. Review operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning & acceptance documents, and recommend improvements. Review and approve building construction, fit-up and tool hook-up designs. Coordinate with hazardous waste management service provider for safe handling and disposal of gases, liquids, solid wastes. Manage engineering & design team for instrumentation, controls and life safety system across multiple projects. Participate in project scope, budget, schedule development. Provide technical direction to design engineers during conceptual design, interface with site user groups, other engineering disciplines, local municipalities, utilities, trade contractors, and stakeholders. Perform conceptual instrumentation and controls, and Life Safety System analysis for various scenarios. Develop process design deliverables supporting all aspects of conceptual design. Interact with internal engineering orgs to influence design standards, construction specifications, and operations requirements to enable construction to meet review and approve Chem Auth and MOC Qualifications. Education & Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. 7 years of semiconductor or high purity hazardous gas facilities management experience; OR more than 10 years of semiconductor gas facilities management experience. Strong experience as a facilities engineer in semiconductor manufacturing (wafer fab) facilities a strong plus. Industrial gas and chemical delivery or equivalent experience. Experience with gas abatement and wastewater treatment systems. Knowledge of gas distribution systems and PLC-based controls systems. Knowledge of local Fire, Building and Environmental codes. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of SPC, 8D, DMAIC, FMEA and other tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
