We are currently hiring for an Associate VP, Development in Chicago! The Associate VP will serve as a player/coach within a team of four staff who lead all aspects of the Go Red for Women campaign. This position will have direct responsibility in generating revenue by soliciting corporations for sponsorships/partnerships and individual donations. The campaign includes our signature Go Red for Women Luncheon event. This role will provide direct coaching and supervision to two fundraising staff and one coordinator! We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers. Responsibilities Provide direct coaching and supervision to two Development Directors and indirect coaching and supervision to one Development Coordinator. Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership. Prospect and secure platform corporate sponsorships. Develop profiles on the top businesses within the area with a documented plan to secure their involvement. Support Development staff in executing event logistics based on national best practices. Work closely with a Communications Director to develop and manage a promotion/communications plan for the event. Manage and maintain accurate volunteer and supporter information within our customer relationship management (CRM) system and Microsoft platforms, ensuring data is current and up to date. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in fundraising or outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. 3+ year of experience in a management capacity. This experience may occur within the 3-year related experience requirement. Experience gained through direct internal work on American Heart Association projects/priorities may substitute for this requirement and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. University/College degree or equivalent experience. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations, and similar narrative pieces. Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis. Ability to do daily local travel up to 70%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis. Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving. Compensation & Benefits Salary minimum to the midpoint of the range is $96,000 to $126,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
