Lead Urology Technician

Job Summary Responsible for preparing patients for urological procedures; perform various catheterizations; instill medications; assist in surgery; take and develop X-rays; schedule surgical procedures; assist and instruct patients in care and maintenance of urological appliances; and maintain supplies and equipment. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Responsibilities include but are not limited to appointment & schedule management, daily room oversight, daily staffing assignment, and compliance monitoring to ensure appropriate standards. -Leads and facilitates daily huddles for effective and efficient clinical and service operations. -Continually monitors staff competency and scope of practice and reports observed concerns to clinical or operational manager as appropriate. -Includes monitoring of policies, procedures, and compliance of diagnostic tests including follow up communication with patients. Qualifications Education High school Diploma or equivalent is required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Urology Experience 5-years experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Able to multitask in a busy practice environment and see work through to completion. - Accuracy and attention to detail. - Strong patient care skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Sound judgment and problem-solving ability. - Ability to work independently and as a team player. - Demonstrated knowledge of HIPPA and infection control.
