Required Skills & Experience

7-10+ years of procurement experience supporting large-scale construction, industrial, EPC, mission-critical, manufacturing, energy, or project-based environments.\nPrior experience in a Procurement Lead, Procurement Supervisor, Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Lead, or similar leadership role.\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field.\nDemonstrated people leadership experience, including direct management, performance evaluations, coaching, or team oversight.\nStrong understanding of:\nPurchase Order Administration\nProcurement Lifecycle Management\nSupplier Relationship Management\nContract Administration\nCommercial Terms and Conditions\nProcurement Governance\nExperience managing multiple procurement packages, suppliers, and project delivery schedules simultaneously.\nExperience supporting engineering teams, field personnel, logistics groups, suppliers, and project stakeholders.\nAbility to identify procurement risks and proactively develop mitigation and recovery plans.\nStrong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and presentation skills.\nExperience presenting project updates and escalating issues to leadership teams and stakeholders.\nStrong negotiation skills and experience supporting commercial discussions.

Job Description

We are seeking a Procurement Lead to oversee procurement execution activities for large-scale capital projects while providing leadership, governance, and strategic direction to project procurement teams. This is a hybrid leadership role that combines people management, project procurement oversight, supplier engagement, and stakeholder communication.\nLeadership Responsibilities\nDirectly manage a team of approximately six Procurement Specialists and Expeditors.\nConduct quarterly performance reviews, KPI evaluations, and ongoing coaching discussions.\nEstablish performance expectations and ensure team members understand key project metrics and objectives.\nMonitor workload distribution and provide support to ensure successful project execution.\nMentor team members and support professional development initiatives.\nParticipate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and talent development activities as the organization grows.\nAct as the escalation point for procurement-related issues and supplier concerns.\nUnlike Procurement Specialists, who focus on individual purchase orders and day-to-day procurement execution, the Procurement Lead is responsible for managing the overall procurement strategy and performance for assigned projects. This individual provides oversight of procurement activities, monitors risk across procurement packages, ensures alignment with project objectives, and drives resolution of critical supplier, commercial, and delivery issues.\n\nThe Procurement Lead will directly manage a team consisting of Procurement Specialists and Expeditors and serve as the primary procurement representative to project leadership and key stakeholders.\n\nDay-to-Day Responsibilities\nLead procurement activities across large-scale capital projects from planning through project execution.\nProvide oversight and governance for Procurement Specialists and Expeditors supporting project procurement activities.\nMonitor procurement performance, supplier commitments, delivery schedules, and project procurement risks.\nManage the most complex procurement packages, supplier issues, and commercial challenges when required.\nConsolidate project procurement data and provide regular updates to project leadership and stakeholders.\nPresent procurement status, recovery plans, risk mitigation strategies, and support requirements to senior leadership teams.\nReview procurement workflows, documentation, compliance requirements, and team performance to ensure project objectives are achieved.\nCollaborate with sourcing teams regarding supplier negotiations, award recommendations, and procurement execution strategies.\nIdentify procurement, supplier, logistics, and contract risks and develop mitigation plans.\nSupport project forecasting, schedule planning, procurement reporting, and KPI management.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives for procurement processes and project execution.\nParticipate in workforce planning, team development, succession planning, and future hiring activities.
