Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a primary focus on cardiac and stroke diagnoses
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement as required clinical competencies
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Manage peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, and various oxygen delivery systems including nasal cannula, face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Adhere to isolation precautions and safely operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts
• Float within scope to like units including Medical Surgical, ICU, and ED to meet facility needs

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• BLS certification required
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records (hard requirement)
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting with cardiac and stroke patient populations
• Familiarity with Hoyer lift operation and other assistive patient care equipment
• Flexibility with scheduling, including every-other-weekend availability
