We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide inpatient Vascular Surgery coverage in Largo, Maryland. This position focuses on post-operative floor patient care, consults, rounding, and discharge management for vascular surgery patients. The provider will also offer secondary support for post-operative thoracic surgery patients and ICU coverage, though this is not the primary service line.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled advanced practice provider with vascular, cardiovascular, or cardiothoracic surgery experience who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Position Details

• Coverage need for one provider
• 3 4 shifts per week
• Minimum availability of 3 days per week required
• 10-hour shifts
• Schedule varies Monday Thursday and Friday Sunday
• Shift hours: 7:30 AM 5:30 PM
• No call responsibilities
• Provider will work independently/solo
• EMR: EPIC
• All floor-based post-operative patient care
• No OR coverage required

Typical Daily Responsibilities

• Round on post-operative vascular surgery patients
• Manage inpatient consults and patient evaluations
• Coordinate patient discharges and follow-up care
• Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff regarding patient treatment plans
• Provide secondary support coverage for thoracic surgery and ICU patients as needed
• Document patient encounters accurately in EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Maryland license required
• Maryland DEA and Maryland Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience required
• Vascular Surgery experience preferred
• Will accept candidates with Cardiovascular and/or Cardiothoracic Surgery experience
• IMLC candidates will not be considered

Additional Information

• No operating room responsibilities
• Travel reimbursement available for mileage using personal vehicle
• Drive-in candidates only
