Small Animal Patient Care Intermediate And General Ward Technician (ANML HEALTH TCHN 2 VMTH)

Job Summary Under supervision of the Small Animal Patient Care shift supervisor, provide Para veterinary technical support to the Small Animal Clinic Veterinarians. On a daily basis, responsible for the treatment of patients, blood bank support, student instruction, clinician support and facility support. This position ends 10 months from date of hire with the possibility of extension. RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened on a weekly basis.The position can be filled prior to the apply by date. Apply By Date 10/28/2026 by 11:59 pm Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Must obtain a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 3 months from date of hire. No Minimum Education required. Experience working in a small animal hospital as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistance. Experience giving medications. Experience drawing blood. Interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of people including clients, clinicians, students and staff. Preferred Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license. Experience catheterizing blood vessels and urinary track. Knowledge of common hospital pathogens and methods of disinfection. Knowledge of medical terminology and disease processes. Skill to assist in the performance of veterinary medical treatments and procedures. Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge.
