Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Two years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience, Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. The RN is responsible for customer satisfaction and quality outcomes. The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. The RN mentors and precepts staff. The RN performs assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. The RN utilizes resources to support the needs of patients and families. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN functions as a mentor and preceptor for staff. The RN encourages and facilitates teamwork. The RN identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement.
