Primary Purpose:


This position serves as an associate-level role under the guidance and mentorship of the Systems Integrator and the Senior Systems Administrator. The person in this position will assist with maintaining district systems, servers, and cybersecurity measures, while progressively developing the knowledge and skills required to step into a leadership role. Responsibilities include supporting mobile device management, staff and student device allocation, and assisting with disaster recovery, data redundancy, and cybersecurity practices.

Any combination of education and work experience equivalent to:

1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent technical experience.
2. Certification or coursework in cybersecurity, networking, or systems administration preferred.
3. Requirements: Oregon Fingerprint and Criminal Check Clearance.
4. Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to pursue relevant certifications.

Experience Required:

• One to two years of experience in an IT support, junior system administration, or cybersecurity-related role, preferably in a K-12 or similar environment
• Experience with Windows Server, Linux, or virtualization platforms desirable
• Exposure to device imaging and mobile device management tools preferred.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist with the monitoring, maintenance, and support of servers (physical and virtual), storage, and system backups.
• Support implementation of cybersecurity practices including password management, multifactor authentication, and phishing response.
• Aid in the allocation, imaging, and management of staff and student devices across Windows, Apple, and Chrome environments.
• Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning under the direction of senior staff.
• Collaborate with senior systems staff on change and configuration management documentation.
• Assist with system patching, updates, and upgrades.
• Provide first- and second-level support for server and system alerts, escalating issues as needed.
• Help facilitate mobile device management solutions and support staff with device deployment.
• Support email delivery systems and contribute to monitoring phishing/social engineering attempts.
• Assist in research and implementation of new technologies and industry best practices.
• Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Participate in team projects, training sessions, and cross-departmental collaborations to develop a deeper understanding of infrastructure and cybersecurity practices.
• Provide backup support to other technical team members when needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to continual learning.

Additional Functions

• Assist with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of district hardware and software
• Participate in professional development and training.
• Shadow senior staff during complex projects such as system upgrades, cybersecurity audits, and disaster recovery simulations.
• Support and collaborate with other technology staff, providing guidance when appropriate.
• Provide backup support to other positions in case of absence or work overload.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and customers at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, and dress.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Confer regularly with immediate supervisor, or designee.
• Follow all district policies, work procedures, and reasonable requests by proper authority.
• Fulfill daily tickets; Provide voice and remote support as needed to ensure minimal disruption to the learning environment and maintain smooth classroom operations.
• Travel between sites as necessary
