Associate Scientist, Post Doc Fellow- Computational Immunology

Merck seeks a postdoctoral fellow to analyze single-cell and spatial transcriptomics datasets from human tissues to understand immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. The role combines computational biology, immunology, and translational research to identify disease mechanisms and biomarkers relevant to therapeutic development.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics datasets from diseased and control tissues
• Develop computational methods for data integration, annotation, and interpretation across cohorts
• Apply machine learning and statistical modeling to identify disease-associated cellular states and tissue niches
• Integrate multimodal datasets to characterize disease mechanisms and generate biomarker hypotheses
• Lead analyses, prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and present findings at conferences

Requirements

• PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, statistics, or related field
• Strong programming proficiency in R and/or Python
• Experience analyzing large-scale genomics and multi-omics datasets
• Hands-on expertise with GPU computing, HPC clusters, and AWS cloud environments
• Demonstrated publication record in computational biology or genomics
• Single-cell omics analysis workflow experience (Seurat, Scanpy, scVI, or similar tools)
