Java Fullstack Developer (Angular) Job Req Id: 26955866 Location(s): Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India Job Type: Hybrid Posted: Apr. 24, 2026 Job Overview The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities. General Responsibilities: Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance server-side applications using Java frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC). Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular), HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Design, develop components with minimal assistance and effectively interact, collaborate with development architects and stakeholders to design scalable, maintainable, and secure application architectures, communicate development progress, and work with developers onshore, offshore and matrix teams to implement a business solution. Write user/supported documentation, evaluate and adopt new dev tools, libraries, and approaches to improve delivery quality, and perform peer code review of project codebase changes. Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code. Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems. Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications, analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, and conduct testing and debugging. Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts, identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions. Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents. Operate with a limited level of direct supervision and exercise independence of judgement and autonomy, acting as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of professional experience in Java, SpringBoot applications development. Strong proficiency in Angular, Java and its ecosystem (Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven/Gradle). Extensive experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs and UI/UX forms. Solid understanding of App Development, object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns. Experience with relational databases Oracle / SQL. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience on DEVOPS, CI/CD, Build Tools Maven, Ant, with knowledge on using Sonar, Blackduck and Jenkins. Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Skills (Nice to Have) Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform). Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ). Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, Angular) is a plus. Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra). Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Experience with performance testing and tuning. Certification in Java or related technologies.
