We are looking for a Software Engineering & Operations Manager to join our trinamiX team in Austin. As part of this vision, we are looking for an experienced Software Developer leader to guide our trinamiX team and ensure smooth local operations of our U.S. entity.

As a Software Engineering & Operations Manager, you will:

• Foster innovation by proactively identifying the best technical approach to meet strategic goals.
• Perform rigorous code reviews and raise the technical bar across the engineering team.
• Translate technical and business requirements into high-performance embedded C++ libraries.
• Design and implement robust, efficient, well-tested, and extensible components across our core biometric authentication platform.
• Lead, manage, and mentor a cross-functional team of 11 Software Engineers and Data Scientists, with full disciplinary responsibility.
• Foster a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
• Translate business requirements and product needs into clear technical direction for the team.
• Create an environment where engineers grow, innovate, and do their best work.
• Serve as the Site Leader of our Austin legal entity for administrative and legal compliance purposes.
• Oversee day-to-day office operations to ensure a productive and well-coordinated work environment.
• Maintain regular communication and alignment with headquarters in Germany.

If you hold a BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Bring 5+ years of professional software development experience. Have 4+ years of leadership experience with direct reports, including disciplinary responsibility. Demonstrate strong, proven expertise in C++ (ideally C++17) and preferably Python 3. Have experience leading or managing a software engineering team. Exhibit excellent analytical thinking and communication skills in English. Are responsible, organized, and an exceptionally fast learner. Have experience with Git, Linux, CMake, and/or QML. (preferred) Are familiar with embedded systems or computer vision domains. (preferred) Have previous collaboration experience with Data Scientists or cross-functional R&D teams. (preferred)
