This role focuses on assembling custom air duct systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal ductwork using hand and power tools, follow schematics, and perform quality checks to ensure safe, accurate, and durable products. The position requires consistent physical activity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut straight pipe and round duct using a Zip Wheel (hand saw or hand grinder) and other cutting tools.

• Assemble custom air duct systems according to project specifications using hand and power tools.

• Read and interpret schematics and diagrams to determine correct assembly of duct systems.

• Perform quality checks on completed products to ensure edges, siding, and surfaces are safe and free from sharp or hazardous defects.

• Handle and lift materials weighing 50+ pounds daily, using assistance from another employee for heavier products as needed.

• Move efficiently around the production floor to support various teams and departments as required.

• Maintain a fast work pace while standing, walking, and working on your feet throughout the entire shift.

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while using tools, equipment, and materials.

• Keep work areas organized, clean, and free of hazards to support safe and efficient operations.

• Collaborate with coworkers and communicate effectively to meet production goals and deadlines.

Essential Skills

• Previous assembly experience in a production, manufacturing, or similar environment.

• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

• Proficiency with measuring tape and basic measuring techniques for accurate cutting and assembly.

• Experience working with general production tasks, including general labor and material handling.

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.

• Comfort working with sheet metal and duct work in an industrial setting.

• Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously on your feet for 812 hours per day.

• Capability to keep up with a fast-paced production floor and move between different teams or departments as needed.

• Comfort working in varying elements, including very hot warehouse conditions during the summer.

• Strong attention to detail and quality when assembling and inspecting products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using a Zip Wheel, hand saw, hand grinder, or circular saw for cutting metal components.

• Background in industrial manufacturing or similar environments.

• Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics or technical drawings.

• Experience with sheet metal fabrication or HVAC duct assembly.

• Willingness to work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, starting at either 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m.

• Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.

• Ability to follow safety protocols and workplace procedures.

Work Environment

This position is based in an industrial manufacturing environment focused on producing air duct systems. The work is performed on a production floor where you will use hand and power tools, including cutting tools such as a Zip Wheel or circular saw, and work with sheet metal and duct components. The facility operates Monday through Friday, with shift options starting at 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. for an 8-hour workday. You will be on your feet for most of the shift, standing, walking, and moving between different departments in a fast-paced setting. The warehouse can become very hot during the summer months, and you should be comfortable working in these conditions. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and consistent productivity, with appropriate industrial attire and personal protective equipment expected to support safe and efficient operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
