Senior Staff Accountant

About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established international manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join its Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will play a key role in managing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working with cross-functional teams in both the U.S. and internationally. Important: Hands-on SAP accounting experience is a mandatory requirement for this position. Applications from candidates without recent SAP accounting experience will not be considered . Key Responsibilities Lead the month-end and year-end close processes. Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial data. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules. Handle intercompany accounting and reconciliations. Coordinate banking activities, including ACH and wire transfers. Manage corporate travel and expense reporting. Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns. Support internal and external audits. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls. Collaborate with headquarters and internal stakeholders to support business operations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Staff Accountant. Previous accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Hands-on SAP accounting experience is required. Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Experience with month-end close, general ledger, account reconciliations, fixed assets, sales and use tax, and financial reporting. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
